Welcome!

Many things go stale over time, but sound ideas do not!

Some 60 years ago, there was great concern that voters were losing an understanding of the principles and purposes of the American way of life. Facilitated by the business community, a citizenship study guide was produced.  It was designed to help individuals who were interested in knowing more about the American political process. And then small discussion groups about citizenship action were started across the country.

The course involved meetings, called Workshops, usually in the evening, for about two hours with about 12-15 participants and a Discussion Leader.  The original course manual is long out of date, and now in error in some areas relative to today’s political arena.

A newer course was started in  2010 by editing the old out of date course content for a modern Citizenship Action Course but not destroy the “totally bipartisan” approach.  It was the idea of Sam Gallo, a local Louisiana businessman, who once took the course and became a workshop leader to remove or revise out of date content and errors.

If you are interested in participating in advancing citizenship through a discussion group, let us know.

Further research found other citizenship material used in support of Citizenship action, and is also resented here.
